Introduction
Congratulations!
You have been chosen to be part of a research team which has been specially
assigned by the Singapore Research Committee (SRC) to do a study on Multi-Ethnic
Singapore. You are indeed a valuable member as you were
one of the 200 people chosen from a pool of 1,060 people to do this research.
As
a researcher for SRC, you are to do the following:
- Form a
team comprising 5 members. However, this would not be a problem as you
have already formed a team of 5 members. .
- You are
to do an in-depth study on one
ethnic community in Singapore, for example Chinese, Malay, Indian or Eurasian.
- Some of
the issues you have to tackle will include: their history (where they used
to live, their occupation), their culture, practices, food and religion.
- You are
to do a 5 minute presentation of the ethnic community.
- Finally,
you are to state how Singapore is able to live in harmony with the presence of this community
based on your research.
